EPS Adaptive Force Control™ (AFC™) enables the operator to specify the force used to grind the workpiece. AFC controls the setpoint Grind Force and provides higher metal removal rates. AFC also provides better control of the grind forces during sparkout resulting in better size holding and surface finish. The figure on the left shows AFC (solid blue line) reduced the grind cycle time 25% when compared to a rate feed grind with a gap eliminator function (dashed green line).
